FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQs)

ORDERING QUESTIONS

Every Tire Stickers order is custom-made, one set at a time, just for you. No mass-produced shortcuts here.

Your order is manufactured in California, then shipped to us in Montreal. That process usually takes about 2 weeks, depending on your location. Once it arrives here, we ship it out to you right away, which usually takes another 1–2 business days.

Good things take a little time. We promise it’s worth it.

It depends on how you use your car.

Short Term – Peel & Stick
Our Short Term Peel and Stick product is meant for temporary use. Easy to apply, easy to remove, and designed to last a few hundred miles before they come off. This kit is designed for car shows, photo shoots and races (sprint, drag, endurance, time attack, etc.).

Permanent – Raised Rubber Lettering
Our Permanent Raised Rubber Letter kits are designed for daily drivers and long term durability. These decals are meant to last the lifetime of the tire and are completely cleanable!

If you drive it daily, go Permanent.
If you’re chasing trophies, weekend promotions or photos, Short Term is your friend.

All kits are sold per vehicle, not per letter.

Each phrase (or Tire brand name) has a 12-character maximum. If your text is longer, you’ll need an additional kit or extra letters.

4-piece kit: One phrase per tire (top or bottom)

8-piece kit: Phrase on the top and bottom of every tire

Example:
A MICHELIN – 4 kit gives you MICHELIN once per tire.
A MICHELIN – 8 kit gives you MICHELIN on both the top and bottom of each tire.

Want bulk quantities? Just adjust the quantity next to “Add to Cart”.

Every order includes:
- Your custom Tire Stickers
- Clear application and removal instructions
- Our specialty adhesive (Permanent kits only)
No guessing, no improvising.

Nope, and that’s a good thing.

We don’t sell loose letters that take hours to align and usually end up crooked. Our kits are complete words that are pre-curved to match your tire circumference and mounted on transfer film, so spacing and alignment are already done for you.

Faster install. Cleaner result. Less swearing.

One of the biggest risks of damage to your Tire Stickers is ordering too large for the tire sidewall surface. Tires have a safe sidewall zone between the tread and the wheel bead. Go too big and the letters can rub or get damaged during driving.

Sport bike and off-road motorcycle tires have a standard size, so don’t worry about selecting a tire letter height!

Car tires
You’ve got two options:

Measure only the sidewall (not tread to rim)

Use the tire size chart below

Tire Series          Max Letter Height
20                         0.5″
25                         0.75″
30                         1.0″
35                         1.25″
40                         1.25″
45                         1.5″
50                         1.75″
55                          2.0″
Example:
Tire size: 245/45/R17
Recommended height: 1.5″

When in doubt, match the size of the tire manufacturer’s lettering. Bigger isn’t always better when it comes to tires.

Absolutely.
Whitewalls, dash lines, flares, and other tire accents are all available. Check out the shop to see what’s possible.
Just note: larger accent kits add weight, so rebalancing the wheel may be required.

Yes. Almost any font.
You can choose from our standard fonts, or upload your own by selecting “Font Not Listed” and adding notes at checkout.
If it exists, we can probably make it.

Short answer: yes.

APPLICATION QUESTIONS

Totally normal.

The Tire Lettering kit specialty adhesive should be used sparingly

The adhesive is very strong and meant to be used sparingly so as to avoid ‘oozing’ after applying the Tire Stickers product to the sidewall. The bottle is intentionally not filled to the top and contains more than enough for your kit.

Do not substitute this adhesive with regular super glue. Trust us on this one.

The most important step is the tire cleaning and preparation.

99% of the time, if the Tire Stickers will not stick, it’s a cleaning issue.

Even brand-new tires are oily. They must be thoroughly cleaned before application.

Customers with raised lettering or ‘ribs’ on the tires also may face challenges. These areas require using a credit card or similar object to apply pressure in areas that are too narrow for your finger pressure. Without a contact surface, the decal cannot bond!

You can what our installation video on our home page. There are dozens of other videos available on YouTube

If you still face challenges with application, contact sales@xv-ms.com for additional instructions.

Our product will adhere regardless of the sidewall surface including over raised, embossed and ribbed variations. The Short Term Tire Lettering Kit will conform completely with the sidewall surface and the Permanent Raised Rubber Kit will overlay the surface.

Usually, no.

Short Term kits add virtually no weight.
Permanent Raised Rubber letters are only 0.5 mm thick.

However, larger kits like whitewalls or flares may require rebalancing.

CLEANING, REMOVAL & REPLACEMENT QUESTIONS

The Short Term product is not intended to be cleaned once discoloration begins. However, this can be cleaned once using acetone and a rag to lightly rub over the letters. This will only provide up to 50 miles of additional life.

The Permanent Raised Rubber Letter kits are designed to be cleaned if they discolor from rain, tire shine, snow, dirt, etc. We offer a proprietary cleaner for our products called Tire Stickers Rubber Cleaner. It is available in 3 different size bottles on our website.

Short Term and Permanent Raised Rubber Letter kits both withstand standard washing and power washing!

Yep. Stuff happens.

We offer replacement letters. Please click on replacement decals on our website. Adhesive is sold separately in the shop.

No, when installed correctly.

Permanent Raised Rubber kits bond to the surface of the sidewall without harming the tire. When removed properly, they do not compromise tire integrity.

Short Term kits are designed to be removable and leave minimal residue.

Your tires are safe. Your style just gets better.

Yes, absolutely.

Used tires work just fine as long as they’re properly cleaned. In fact, many customers install Tire Stickers on tires that already have miles on them.

Dirt, oil, and tire shine are the real enemies here. Clean thoroughly and you’re good to go.

Plan on:

Short Term kits: about 15–30 minutes for all four tires
Permanent kits: about 45–90 minutes total, depending on experience and patience level
Pro tip: take your time. Rushing leads to crooked letters and regret.

Both options work.

Most customers install them at home with basic tools and a bit of patience. If you’re not the DIY type, any reputable tire or performance shop can handle the install.

If you can apply a phone screen protector, you can install Tire Stickers.

Yes.

You can rotate the car or roll it slightly to position each tire. Removing the wheels can make things easier, but it’s not required.

Your garage, your call.

Yes, as long as the correct letter height is chosen.

Low-profile tires have less sidewall, so sizing matters more. When in doubt, go smaller or match the tire manufacturer’s lettering height.

Bigger isn’t always better. Especially near potholes.

Permanent Raised Rubber Tire Stickers are designed to handle rain, snow, heat, cold, and road grime.

Salt, slush, and winter washes won’t scare them off. Just clean them like you would normal white lettering.

Short Term kits are best kept for fair-weather fun.

Yes, but not just any tire shine.

Silicone-based tire shine products will damage the finish of Tire Stickers.
They can dull the surface, affect the color, and reduce the lifespan of the lettering.

The safe product to use is Hydroshine, which we offer directly on our website.
Hydroshine is specifically compatible with Tire Stickers and will not damage the finish.

If you want to keep your Tire Stickers looking clean, glossy, and like new, Hydroshine is the right choice.

Permanent Raised Rubber kits are UV-resistant and designed to keep their color throughout the life of the tire.

Like anything exposed to sun and road abuse, some aging can occur over many years, but fading is minimal with proper cleaning.

Short Term kits are, well… short term. They live fast and retire early.

Yes.

They can be removed with patience, heat, and proper technique. Some adhesive residue may remain and can be cleaned off.

Permanent doesn’t mean “forever”, it just means “not falling off on the highway”.

It happens.

If a letter is damaged during install or later on the road, we offer replacement letters. Just contact customer service and we’ll help you out.

Mistakes happen. We’ve all been there.

Yes.

Tire Stickers work the same on EVs as they do on gas-powered vehicles. Just keep in mind that EVs are heavier and put more load on tires, so proper sizing and installation are especially important.

Still looks cool. Still works.

Short Term kits are not reusable once removed.

Permanent kits are also not designed to be reused. Once they come off, they’ve done their job.

They’re like tires themselves: amazing while they last, not meant to be recycled onto the next set.
